Isaiah 65 vs 21 - 22
And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
It is God's pleasure for us to enjoy life. It is not a sin to have the good things in life. Whatever we put our hands to do the Lord wants to prosper it. We cannot work and not enjoy the fruits of our hands. When we put hard work into something we really should enjoy it.
Imagine how sad it is that you build your house for years, put in a lot of work and then for some reason you cannot enjoy it. Maybe you get sick, lose the house to bank/natural disasters or you even die before you live in that house. Imagine planting a whole vineyard, working hard and you never get enjoy the wine or the sales from it. You lose it maybe to a fire or to something else.
Our work should be profitable, it should be fruitful. We should see ourselves growing from year to year. There may be set backs in life but when we are children of God we always bounce back. Other people cannot enjoy the work of our sweat whilst we starve and live in misery.
[Isaiah 65 vs 21 - 22] But what is the catch here? We have to be His people, His children and he will make sure all these things happen in our life. With all this he also promises us a long life so we can enjoy the work our hands. Long life is a gift from God, we should receive it by faith. He desires to see us living a long life and enjoying all the good things he has designed for us. Our marriages, our families, seeing our children graduate and get married, playing with our grandkids or great great grand kids, living in our houses, enjoying our careers.
All we have to do is be His people, His chosen ones. That's all this verse is saying. He already loves us and its up to us to come to him and get close to him. Have a personal, intimate relationship with him and you will enjoy His promises and more in the name of Jesus Christ.
